DALI Dimming technology is nowadays widely used in applications that need highest quality LED dimming, where absolute zero flickering is requested in the LED lighting at the lowest dimming levels down to 1%, ensuring that it can no longer even be perceived by mobile cameras.
Hybrid dimming is one of the most common dimming methods which combines amplitude dimming from 100% to 30% and PWM dimming in the lower dimming range from 30% to 1%, in order to cover the wide dimming range from 100% to 1%. However, hybrid dimming has its own limits, in lower dimming range, zero flickering can not be ensured and light modulation during dimming can be observed by cameras.
Amplitude dimming covers full dimming range from 100% down to 1% by adjusting the DC supply for LED modules stably, with more efficient LED operation and it delivers a significantly lower light modulation in the lower dimming range from 30%-1%, this means visually flawless light output that does not pose any risk to human eyesight or camera recording applications.
